As repatedly said, the above question and related questions could be answered by applying 'context + elimination techniques': understanding context (the given question: negative or positive?...) and eliminating wrong choices!
Look this question; it is about particular positive idea. The speaker is asking the group to do a particular action but not specifically known action. Based on these (particular, positive idea), choices A, B and C are wrong: they must be eliminated: 100% sure, D is correct answer!
  • Choices A and C are wrong because 'nothing' (A) and 'anything' (C) are used for negative ideas, not for positive ideas. 
  • 'All things' (B) could be used for positive idea but not for particular/single unknown thing/action. 
  • Rules: 'Something' is used for positive idea that refer to particular (but not specifically known) thing/action/idea.

  • 'Everything' (A) and 'something' (C) are used for positive idea. 
  • Choice D is grammatically wrong; 'no' and 'anything' can't be used together: two quantifiers can't be used together!
  • Rules: 'Nothing' is used for negative ideas; it is used without 'no negative verbs/words'!

Use 'context + elimination techniques' to answer this and other related questions about quantifiers. 
Whenever you are asked quantifiers questions, specially, all or most of the words on the choices are indefinite pronouns, make sure whether the given context is about positive or negative idea (see previous tip). 
Look the above context; it is negative (clue: see the expression "Oh, no!") but negative words/verbs haven't been given in the clause in which the blank space is given. Based on these two clues ('negative idea', 'no negative words/verbs'), choices A, B and C are wrong: 100% sure, they should be eliminated: D is correct answer.
  • Choice A is wrong because 'anywhere' is used for negative idea with negative words/verbs' but there are no negative words/verbs' here.
  • Choice B is wrong although the phrase 'not around' is not quantifier, it could be used for negative ideas. 
  • But in this context, the blank space should have been followed by 'that', here, 'that' hasn't been given after the blank space.
  • Choice C is wrong: 'somewhere' is not used for negative ideas: it is used for positive ideas to refer particular thing.
  • Rules: 'Nowhere' is used for negative idea without 'negative words/verbs' (it is negative by itself) to refer place!
